2006-2007 Sociology Club Activities:

Continuing service from last year's committee was Ryan Acton, Leah Ruppanner, and Christopher Marcum. Starting in the Fall Quarter, the committee attended various undergraduate events, including a grad-chat with the undergraduates at Sociology House. The committee also coordinated reorganization of the Undergraduate Sociology Club with the support of Katie Faust.

The undergraduate sociology club met for the first time in over a year in December of the Fall 2006 quarter. Recruitment was slow-to-start, but by the middle of Winter Quarter of 2007 a group of 8 to 12 students had formed a cohesive core, many of whom will continue to be involved next Fall. The group met weekly with departmental support (a nominal budget of $35 per week for food, supplies, AV equipment, etc). Some of the events the sociology club held follow:

- Weekly meetings
- Clothing drive for women and children
- Rant, Rave, Review Nights (Ranted about worldly issues, Raved about progress, and Reviewed conflicts)
- Study sessions for Chuck O'Connell's exams (most students were enrolled in an O'Connell course)
- Sociology Games (Sociology Trivia and Sociology Pictionary)
- Movie Nights
- Graduate Panel (Bobby Chen, Becky Trammel, and Christopher Marcum spoke to the group about applying, preparing for, attending graduate school).

At least one SGSA Undergraduate Committee member attended most of the Undergraduate Club events. In summary, the SGSA Undergraduate Committee had a productive year, with many opportunities to facilitate informal interactions with undergraduate sociology students.
