The Department of Sociology at the University of California, Irvine invites applications for possible visiting lecturer positions in all areas including Research Methods, Interdisciplinary Studies, General Sociology, Networks and Organizations, and Race and Gender. Pending budget approval positions will be available during Fall 2007, Winter 2008, and Spring 2008 quarters. The lecture-format courses to be taught include, but are not limited to, Sociology of Sexuality, Sociology of Sexual Assault, Social Inequality, Sociology of Sport, Mass Communications, and Social Change. Candidates must possess a Ph.D. in Sociology and excellent demonstrated teaching skills. Previous experience teaching these courses or similar courses at the University of California or an equivalent setting is desirable. Salary per course is $4000-$5500 depending on experience.
