• Judy Treas has been elected to the Sociological Research Association (SRA), which recognizes and honors sociologists for their outstanding research and scholarship.  The SRA was founded in 1936 and has approximately 400 members.  Judy joins other UCI sociologists who have previously been elected to the SRA, including Frank Bean, Lin Freeman, Calvin Morrill, Rubn Rumbaut, David Snow, and Robin Williams.
  

Spring 2005

• Professor Sam Gilmore received the "Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Fostering Undergraduate Research" at the annual Undergraduate Research Symposium in May 2005
  
• Professor Chuck O'Connell has been selected as an "Outstanding Professor for the School of Social Sciences" by the graduating class of 2005
  
• Professor Philip Cohen was selected by a committee of Dean's List students at the Mesa Court dorms as a "Faculty Member of the Month" for June 2005.
